How to style colourful jewellery every day

A few easy habits for wearing colour without overthinking it, from one bright accent to a well-loved stack.

Hands at the neckline wearing layered gold necklaces, rings and a bracelet

Colourful jewellery has a reputation for being reserved for holidays and special occasions. We think it belongs on an ordinary Tuesday just as much. A small flash of orange at the ear or a lilac charm at the collarbone can change how an outfit, and a day, feels.

Start with one bright note

If colour feels new, choose one piece and let it lead. A pair of Little Ray studs or an Everyday Colour Ring is enough to lift a plain knit or a white shirt. Keep everything else simple and let the colour do the talking.

Let metals be your calm

Gold and silver tones are wonderful neutrals. Pair a bright piece with a simple chain or band and the whole look feels considered rather than busy. Pebble Chain was designed to be exactly that kind of quiet companion.

Wear the piece that makes you smile when you catch sight of it. That is the whole rule.

Build a stack slowly

The best stacks are collected over time. Add a ring for a birthday, a bracelet for a good week, a pair of studs just because. Mixing colours works best when there is a thread running through them: a shared metal tone, a similar size, or a colour that appears twice.

Most of all, do not save your favourite pieces for best. Jewellery made by hand is made to be worn, touched and lived in.
